Stokesley Computer Consultants (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we process personal information when you use stokesleycomputerconsultants.uk, including our online shop, and when you contact us.

What data we collect
- Contact forms: name, email address, phone number (if provided), message content, and technical information sent by your browser when you submit the form.
- Online shop orders: name, email, phone number, delivery address, order contents, delivery choice, and payment status. Payment card details are entered on Stripe’s pages — we do not store full card numbers on our servers. We receive confirmation of payment and the customer/shipping details Stripe returns for fulfilment.
- Newsletter / marketing signup: if you subscribe, we collect the details required to provide that service (for example email address), processed through our email marketing provider.
- Website analytics: if you choose “Accept analytics” on our cookie notice, your browser loads Google Analytics (provided by Google) and our self-hosted Umami script from analytics.stokesley-hosting.online. Together these help us understand aggregated usage (such as pages viewed and, depending on provider configuration, coarse location derived from IP). Umami is designed to be privacy-focused; Google’s analytics is described in Google’s Privacy Policy. If you choose “Essential only”, we do not load these analytics scripts. We do not use analytics to identify individuals.
How we use your data

- To process and fulfil shop orders, including delivery and returns
- To send order confirmations and service messages about your purchase
- To operate and improve our website
- To send marketing communications only where you have opted in
Legal bases (UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interests: operating the website (excluding optional analytics scripts until you consent), responding to enquiries, and keeping our IT environment secure
- Contract: processing shop orders, payment confirmation, delivery, and related customer service
- Consent: optional analytics when you choose “Accept analytics” on our cookie banner, and marketing emails / newsletter subscriptions (where applicable)
- Legal obligation: records we must keep for tax, accounting, or consumer law
Email marketing (Mailrelay)
If you sign up to marketing communications, we may process your data using Mailrelay (or a successor provider). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in marketing emails.
Form delivery
Website forms may be delivered using a form processing service (for example FormSubmit) to route messages securely to our inbox. That provider processes submissions only to deliver the message to us, in line with their terms and privacy policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
We aim to keep cookies minimal. Until you choose an option on our cookie banner, no analytics scripts run. Your choice (“Accept analytics” or “Essential only”) is stored in your browser (typically localStorage) so we remember it on later visits — it is not tied to analytics identifiers.
If you accept analytics, cookies or similar technologies may be set by Google Analytics and Umami according to each product’s defaults and our configuration; your browser can control cookies through its settings.
Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, and ordinary business correspondence.
Payment and sharing (Stripe)
Online payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe / Stripe (depending on account setup). When you pay, Stripe processes payment data as an independent controller / processor according to Stripe’s own policies. We share with Stripe (and receive from Stripe) the information needed to take payment and fulfil your order — typically name, email, phone, delivery address, order amount, and payment outcome.
Stripe’s privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy. We do not sell your personal data. We may also share data with trusted processors who help us run our business (hosting, email delivery, analytics, marketing automation, and suppliers involved in delivery), under appropriate safeguards.
International transfers
Stripe and some other processors may process data outside the UK. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses).
Your rights
You may have rights under UK GDPR, including to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction or deletion
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)
